Quay Forklift Operator

At LCZ, you will work in a dynamic logistics environment where containers, trucks and heavy goods come together every day. As a quay forklift operator, you play an important role in our daily operations.

This is not a job where you spend the entire day on a forklift. You combine forklift driving with physical work at the quay. You help unload containers, move heavy goods, unhook trailers and work together with your colleagues to ensure that everything runs safely and efficiently.

What will you do?

As a quay forklift operator, you will work together with your colleagues to ensure that containers, trucks and goods are handled safely and efficiently.

Your tasks will include:

• Operating a 33-tonne forklift at the quay. Experience with this type of forklift is an advantage, but we are happy to train you.
• Loading and unloading containers and trucks.
• Unloading containers containing heavy raw materials and materials, such as wood and steel.
• Safely moving goods and loads and positioning them correctly.
• Unhooking and moving trailers.
• Actively helping with physical work at the quay: you will regularly carry out manual tasks and get your hands dirty.
• Always working according to our safety procedures.

What makes you the ideal candidate?

• We are looking for someone who not only has experience with forklifts, but who also likes to stay active and is not afraid of physical work.
• We are looking for someone who:
• has experience as a forklift operator and preferably holds a valid forklift certificate;
• can operate a forklift safely and smoothly;
• enjoys working with heavy machinery and goods;
• is comfortable with physical work and likes to stay active;
• can work independently but also works well as part of a team;
• works accurately and with a strong focus on safety;
• is flexible when it comes to working hours;
• can communicate in Dutch and/or French.

Experience with a 33-tonne forklift is an advantage, but definitely not a requirement. Do you have the right attitude and are you willing to learn? We will be happy to teach you the ins and outs of the job.
